Milano: a day at the Gallery
April 2023
A day in Milan, walking through Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, just before Design Week
Milan has a blurry identity, it’s the North or Italy, but the South of Europe, a city of cosmopolitan aspirations with provincial habits, both forward-thinking and nostalgic, where Tech founders meet up for aperitif in centuries-old bars and where futuristic vertical forests and neoclassical villas coexist in the same district.
Terrified of being bored, Milano organizes its life around Events-weeks: Design, Fashion, Art, Jewellery, Mangas … all occasions are good to get busy and throw parties.
Among Milano different personalities, Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II (or simply “Galleria”) is the one that best embodies the city’s glamor.
Galleria is the Italian Time Square, a Fashion Dystopia in which Prada rules the world and even dogs have to manicure before going for a walk.

The liquid star of the Galleria is Camparino, a place where Carmine Red and Bleached White are the dominant colours, and where “Campari” is the answer to every drink request.
