VIERNES

An imaginary town that really exists

A photographic exhibition by Claudio Vandi

On the centenary of Rodolfo Morales (1925–2025)

Opening Friday, 9 May 2025

MUPO – Oaxaca

In Viernes, Claudio Vandi brings together photography and storytelling to explore how an everyday space (the weekly market of Ocotlán de Morelos) can become a symbolic stage.
In dialogue with the work of painter Rodolfo Morales, he transforms the town into a theater of possibility, where objects, colors, and bodies reveal mythical and cultural resonances.
Viernes exists on the threshold between documentation and fabulation, where photography does not reproduce reality but reinvents it, inviting the viewer into an imaginary geography where collective rituals, memory, and popular aesthetics continue to resonate.
